Ane J. Schei-Andersen (ESR3)

Ane Jordan Schei-Andersen grew up in Oslo, Norway. Being raised in an active neighbourhood, she was involved in several sports before falling in love with Ice Hockey. This eventually led to moving across the country at 16 to play hockey at the top level in Norway. By the age of 19, she had already won 2 League Championships, 1 National Championships and 2 Second places in the National Championships, all while still in High School.

After retiring from sports, she developed an interest in how the human body functions and how different diseases and injuries affect its function. As a result of this curiosity, she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Movement Science in 2020 at The Norwegian University of Science and Technology with her thesis focusing on strength training and its effect on disease progression and inflammatory response in Multiple Sclerosis patients.

She completed her Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology in 2022, conducting a study on biomarkers for myocardial infarction (Troponin T and I) during exercise as a part of the Cardiac Exercise Research Group (CERG) at The Norwegian University of Science and Technology under the supervision of Dr Øyvind Ellingsen.

Ane is passionate about preventing disease development and will be joining the PIPGen Consortium as a part of the department of Human Genetics at Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen under the supervision of Professor Nicoline Hoogerbrugge. She will focusing on easy-to-apply set of clinical criteria the can be utilized by health care providers in order to recognize PTEN Hamartoma Syndrome.
